Football

First up this week it’s the latest from the footballing world. In England, Man City saw off Man United relatively easily, giving Guardiola another feather in his cap in matches against Jose Mourinho. It’s early days yet, but city look good. Elsewhere Chelsea have dropped some early points and Liverpool are well, just being Liverpool. In Spain, Barcelona dropped points to lowly Alaves in another case of Luis Enrique taking his foot off the gas after an international break and coming a cropper.

The Champions League roared back on to our screens this week with a litany of rather dull fixtures, with the exception of PSG vs Arsenal which had a bizarre double sending off. Barcelona were angry after their weekend defeat and took it out on a pathetic Celtic who conceded no less than 7 goals. This was one of many thrashings in the first round of fixtures of the Champions League, again proving that there are too many teams in it.

UFC

The only other thing that piqued our interest this week was UFC. There were plenty of talking points from UFC202 including Overeem running around the octagon to escape Miocic before duly having his head put through it. Faber executed a weird game plan and lost and after 2 years of training, WWE wrestler CM Punk made his debut and didn’t manage to swing a single punch. Conor McGregor is still proud of him though.

More next week!
