Another match, another injury. This time around Rob Elliot found fate a far crueller mistress than Kevin Doyle and picked up an injury that could rule him out for up to 6 months. Shane Long also looked to have picked up a knock.
Paul McShane – WHY??? Directly responsible for both Slovak goals.
Much better showing from Ireland with Wessi pulling the strings in an unusual (for Ireland) diamond formation.
Another ‘big winner’ is Shay Given who has seen both club and international rivals fall to serious injury over the course of the friendly schedules.
