Weekend Football
This Changes Everything! It’s make or break time for the top 4 in this year’s Premier League. Leicester play Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium and Man City play Tottenham at the Etihad. A win for Leicester could in theory put them 7 points clear with 12 games to go. Two exciting games on Sunday on the Champions League returns on Tuesday. Another bonus is that there’s only one more Cup match featuring Liverpool to go this season!
In Spain, both Real Madrid and Barcelona have relatively tricky fixtures, but both are at home.
Phil in the USA
We have a chat with Phil O’Connor who spent last week in the USA covering the NBA’s European players about those games, MMA, athletics and lots more. What’s more he’ll be joining us live from Las Vegas next month where the Johnny-Come-Lately UFC fan himself will be at UFC 196 watching McGregor scrap it out with dosAnjos.
Pebble Beach Pro-Am Golf
After Ricky Fowler threw the Waste Management Phoenix Open away last week with two disasters on the 17th, it’s on to Pebble Beach where a stacked field will play three short courses. The odds for the tournament are below. The best we could pick out in terms of value was Shane Lowry at 40/1.
The SuperBowl
Our chat about the SuperBowl revolves mostly around Coldplay and Lady Gaga, because we were in bed when the game was on. That’s dedication to the cause folks. Still a funny discussion and well worth a listen. Earl even gets sent to the corner.
Six Nations Fixtures
The Six Nations is off and running and this week throws up some potentially interesting matches with Ireland away to France and England with a potential banana skin trip to Rome. It’s true that the should win relatively easily, but 10/1 is a big price for Italy to pull off an upset. We also chat about Paul O’Connell’s retirement and Earl suggests that expanding the Six Nations might be a good thing.
