BGO Bingo Review
Originally starting life as “X Bingo”, BGO made its debut in the middle of 2011 and since doing so, it has made a lot of noise. BGO has a diverse range of games that they offer on their browser-based bingo software.
BGO – Key Facts
BGO, Pronounced “Bee-Go”, is a gambling brand which is both regulated and licensed by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission and the British Gambling Association.
Knowing this, players can feel pretty reassured when signing up for this site’s services. After all, in the very unlikely event of a problem, you can be certain that you will be well protected by these two reputable bodies. It is also pleasing to note that the banking methods offered are secure and that the site offers a full end to end encryption system for the players’ security and peace of mind.
You can expect to find lots of 90 ball bingo games and 75 number bingo games and your joining bonus (check the latest offer by visiting BGO here) provides you with the perfect opportunity to put them to the test.
Each of the BGO 90 ball games features three prizes, whilst it is winner takes all in the BGO 75 ball games, so take a bit to enjoy playing here, as we are certain you will find the software and games selection to your liking – just as we do!
As a free player, you will also notice that they have tons of additional games to offer players in addition to their bingo games. When you become a real money player at BGO, you can play scratch card games, table games, and you can choose from what we have labelled the strongest line-up of slots games offered by a bingo site.
Slots on BGO
There are 45 different slots games that you can play at BGO, and of these slots games, 41 of them are unique to BGO. This means you will not find them at any other bingo site. If you enjoy playing slots whilst playing bingo, BGO is clearly the way to go. In addition to these mostly unique slots games, you can have a go at ten different themed scratch card games and nine different casino table games as a real money BGO player.
BGO Deposit Bonus
When you use your PayPal account, credit card, debit card, or UKash to make your very first deposit and become a real money player – BGO may have up to three times more money waiting for you. Whilst most bingo sites have a ton of terms and conditions tied to their bonuses, BGO’s bonus requirements can be amongst the most relaxed and best in the industry. Please check their website for the current offers/promotions.
Whilst most newcomers latch on to existing software or networks, BGO decided to bring its own unique platform to the party, and with bingo being such a popular choice amongst us Brits, we asked Maria Cigno to get the complete lowdown.
My Experience on BGO Bingo
When I was asked to sign up with this well-known provider to find out more about the playing experience they could offer, I leaped at the opportunity – especially with a little spending money to go with it!
I was hoping for a great array of games to suit all kinds of players together with a thoughtfully designed and easy-to-navigate user experience. Was I disappointed? Read on and find out.
The Process Of Registering
Nobody enjoys an onerous registration experience, and since BGO is one of the biggest and best-known brands out there, I was expecting a very easy and straightforward sign-up process. You’ll be pleased to discover that I wasn’t disappointed. The BGO site is very well designed with a sleek and professional colour scheme together with an easily navigable lobby area. Although the backdrop is dark in colour, it makes the colours of the page really stand out.
It’s very easy to register to play bingo here. All you need to do is select “Join” and then complete all your personal info. You’ll be registered in mere minutes and you’ll be taken straight through to the player lobby where you can opt to deposit funds into your player account straight away or take some time to navigate around the different game options available to you first. If you’re registering via your smartphone, you’ll find the loading times for the pages are fairly average, so you won’t need to wait too long before you can get playing. I used the BGO Bingo promo code BINGO.
Paying A Deposit
After registering for this bingo site, I had to make an initial deposit to start playing. There’s a special offer for new players who register for the bingo arm of the website – if players deposit a minimum of £10 in their account and enter a promotional code they can benefit from an additional £20 to play with.
Of course, there are rules and regulations regarding this welcome offer, as you would expect. You can’t make your initial deposit using either Skrill or Neteller, and there is also a 4x playthrough requirement for the bonus funds awarded from this offer.
Don’t forget to enter the promotional code at the depositing stage as otherwise, you won’t receive your bonus funds. As for payment methods, there’s no shortage of choice to select from. Instant banking. PaySafeCard, credit and debit cards and PayPal are all available as well as Neteller and Skrill.
I recorded a video of the joining process below so you know what to expect – and you can also see me playing BGO Bingo after that, too, so you will know what to expect to see:
The Bingo Experience
Whatever type of bingo game takes your fancy, you’re definitely going to find it here at BGO Bingo. I was incredibly impressed right from the moment I entered the player’s lobby to discover that there was a wealth of games scheduled to start within the next few minutes. I found it extremely easy to scroll through the different options and to choose games at different price points.
There are games for as little as 1p per bingo card, so it’s very easy to stretch your budget as far as it needs to go. Whether you love speed bingo with just 40 balls, the classic 90 ball or 75 ball games or something in between, you’ll find something to suit you on this site. There are jackpot games, themed games and progressive games with prizes on offer from just a couple of pounds up to thousands. With dozens of games being played every hour, it’s easy to stay entertained for ages.
I decided to try my hand at a few different games. Cheap As Chips costs just 1p per bingo card and is a 90 ball game, with a winner for 1 line, 2 lines, and full house. The prizes aren’t going to be life-changed at this sort of pay-in level, but the games are fun and engaging.
I also tried my hand at Rainbow Riches Bingo (similar in style and theme to the slot game of the same name). The prizes are higher and the gameplay faster with an amusing (if slightly irritating after a while) Irish leprechaun voice reading out the numbers.
The options are virtually endless. If you check out the various games available you’ll see TV inspired games such as Deal Or No Deal Bingo, Linx games that are connected with players at other Playtech bingo sites and even free games with real cash prizes.
Whether you’re chasing some serious life-changing sums or whether you’re just playing for fun and a little extra pocket money, there are games to suit you.
Additional Features
More players these days are choosing to play online but still want to enjoy the classic bingo hall social experience. BGO Bingo have really thought about that and offer chatrooms on many of its games. There are greeters in each chatroom to welcome every player and players can type their conversation into the box. This makes the entire experience more engaging and interactive all around.
The Player Account Portal
Finding the player account can be done simply. Simply clicking at the top left of the smartphone screen shows the option for viewing the account and here I could see all my personal information at a single glance, make changes, view bonuses and transactions and withdraw any winnings should I be lucky enough to have any.
Other Games
Of course, BGO Bingo may be mostly about bingo, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing else to keep you occupied. In between games you can visit the slots or scratch card minigames which are also easily accessible on the site.
There’s a pretty good range of slots to pick from including progressive jackpots. There are games in a wide range of genres and themes including famous names like Age of Gods, franchise inspired titles like Britain’s Got Talent and slots which share theming and branding with some of the bingo games such as Cash Cubes.
As you’d expect from a reputable online provider like BGO the games are good, with excellent sounds and visuals and plenty of engaging gameplay.
Promotions And Deals
BGO really excels when it comes to the promotions front. Apart from the signup bonus on registering there are plenty of other exciting offers for existing customers. By entering promotional codes, it’s possible to access a range of offers from entries into prize draws to free spins on designated slots.
There are also Daily Treats which vary depending on the day and time. These are a lucrative offer for existing players to maximise their bankroll and to get as much fun as possible out of their bingo experience. BGO Bingo also has a loyalty club, especially for bingo players.
The Candy Club has 5 levels and every time you spend £10 on bingo tickets, 6 Candy Club points come your way. Over time, these add up and you progress through each level to earn more exclusive offers and bonuses.
As you’d expect, there’s a whole lot of small print to check out, so make sure to read it as there are often restrictions on the games which are included in the offers, the total amount which can be spent and, of course, the ever-present playthrough requirement to keep in mind.
Customer Service
Of course, we all know that good customer service is pretty important when choosing any new online gambling site. There’s no point in having an amazing gameplay experience if you can’t get help whenever you need it.
When it comes to BGO Bingo there’s both good and not so good to report. While it’s technically possible to get hold of the customer service team via several methods including by email, live chat or telephone, in fact, it’s definitely not as simple as it appears to be.
First off, the customer service team aren’t around 24/7, so if you’re a fan of out-of-hours gambling, and let’s face it, many of us are, getting support at the time you need it most is going to be impossible.
Not only that, the telephone helpline isn’t toll-free – very disappointing considering many rival operators are now offering free calls to their support services – and it’s only available for callers between 7.30am and 1am. That’s not bad, but it could be better.
The live chat facility from the home page is also technically available at the same times, however having tried to access the live chat myself on several occasions within those hours, I can confirm that occasionally the team were unavailable even when they should have been. Even when they were available, the connection time to reach an operative were a bit slow for my liking.
Withdrawing Funds
On the upside, it’s pretty easy to withdraw your winnings from BGO Bingo. All you need to do is visit the player account portal, click on “Withdraw” and enter an amount. It’s about as easy as it gets.
Withdrawals are processed every day and are received within 3-5 days depending on which method you’ve chosen as your preferred banking option. PayPal and other e-Wallets, of course, have the fastest turnaround times, but even the time for credit card withdrawals is within a week.
One of the downsides of BGO Bingo that I must mention here is that they charge a fee on both withdrawals and deposits – something which we don’t tend to see so often and which is most unwelcome.
If you deposit less than £500 into your account you’ll be paying an extra 2.5% fee in respect of a “tax offset”. This applies no matter which payment option you choose. As an absolute minimum, you’ll be charged 50p on your deposit and a steep fee of £2.50 on withdrawals.
BGO Bingo – My Conclusion
So, what do I think of BGO Bingo overall? Well, there are a lot of positive things to say about the product, such as the range of games for a start is a massive bonus. In general, I have to say that I would recommend it as long as those people I was recommending it to were aware of its few shortcomings that I have mentioned previously.
Whether you want a super-speedy game of 40 ball bingo while you’re waiting for the bus or whether you’re keen to have an immersive and exciting experience such as Deal Or No Deal Bingo there’s bound to be something for you here. There are also games to suit all budgets from games that are completely free to those that cost a couple of pounds per card.
It isn’t just about the bingo either. The slots and scratchcards available to play in between games are fun and engaging and give the opportunity to win a little extra money on the side. BGO Bingo is also a very safe and secure site, so players can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing they’re playing with a site that is registered and licensed with a reliable and well-known body.
Mobile accessibility is outstanding and even when the games are played from the small screen of my smartphone there’s no difficulty in navigating the site or seeing what’s going on. The pages are rapid-loading and banking is a breeze too – especially if you’re a fan of e-Wallets.
There are lots of great promotions too. One of the best that I benefited from in one playing session was a free £1 bingo bonus with no playthrough requirement on winnings. With games at just 1p per card in some cases, I managed to eke it out for hours!
On the minuses, the fee to deposit and withdraw funds is perhaps the biggest downside to BGO Bingo. If your winnings are small, paying a fee can result in a sizeable amount of your cash being eroded. Also, the slightly erratic customer support department and it’s short opening hours could prove to be another sticking point.
Overall, despite these points, BGO Bingo has a lot going for it and if you’re looking for variety, good value for money and an engaging atmosphere, in my opinion it’s definitely worth signing up.
